iWorth It App Reviews:

How did you get into developing apps?

Exotic Pixel:

I’m a real Mac fan and have been playing games since I was a kid. I never thought I’d have the opportunity to write a game myself but then the iPhone came along and presented an opportunity I just couldn’t ignore.

I had a background in C++ so picking up Objective C was no problem. OpenGL and some of the other intricacies of the iPhone were a bit more tricky but I got some excellent help following the tutorials at 71squared.com. 4 months later Particle Collider was in the App Store.

What was your inspiration for developing this app?

Exotic Pixel:

Flight Control was a landmark application which really showed that simple but slick casual games could be popular on the iPhone. This was the first game I saw that made me think I could create something viable.

Around the same time as Flight Control was climbing the charts, the Large Hadron Collider at CERN was also in the news. That gave me the idea about smashing particles together and so with some gameplay inspiration from Flight Control, Particle Collider was born.

How long did it take to develop the app?

Exotic Pixel:

Around 4 months though this wasn’t full time.

iWorth It App Reviews:

Are there any hidden features to the app?

Exotic Pixel:

No, not really. There are tricks and tactics that will definitely help you progress and of course each level brings something new and unexpected.

iWorth It App Reviews:

Do you have any future plans for this app?

Exotic Pixel:

Yes. I’m currently adding global high score support, resume on exit and a few other little niceties.

iWorth It App Reviews:

Do you plan to develop any new apps? If so when can we expect to see them in the App Store?

Exotic Pixel:

Most certainly. Still at the drawing board on these I’m afraid. Will let you know as soon as there is any news though!
